If you’ve arrived at this page, you’re probably either a student, an instructor, or an individual just interested in learning (or relearning) some basic economics. Well, you’ve come to the right place. In partnership with YouTube and About.com, I am working on putting together comprehensive course materials in both video and written form that are freely available online. You can watch a bit about the overall project here:
In order to make access to the videos and articles as easy as possible, I’ve made it so that you can search by topic, course, or textbook chapter. (Right now I only have the videos and articles coded for the Mankiw principles text, but I will be adding others soon! Send an email to econgirl at economistsdoitwithmodels dot com if you would like me to cover a particular text.)
Search by topic:
Search by classroom course:
Search by textbook chapter (Mankiw Principles of Economics, 6th Edition):
Search by textbook chapter (Mankiw Essentials of Economics, 5th Edition):
In addition, you can access the content directly in a number of ways:

Hi Jodi,
I really enjoy your principles econ video series. Could you also do a video lecture on Consumer Choice and Utility Theory.
Many Thanks,
Ray

Jodi,
will you please do a video on the tragedy of commons that does not use the pasture example?
I am moving into my first economics classroom after teaching many other Social Studies topics for over 20 years! I am nervous and excited.
Your content is a great refresher for me and what a blessing because I will be using the same textbook !
You are a lifesaver!

Hi!
I’ve been watching your microeconomics playlist and was wondering where I should look for problems to practice what I’m learning? And sorta what those would look like?

Does the microeconomics and macroeconomics playlists cover mostly all material in an actual intro to micro/macro econ class?

Hi. Why don’t you have an option just to play automatically your online lectures from 1 straight through to the end, with one appearing right after the last ends, and an ability to bookmark where I finished last time?

Do you review your posts before allowing them online? If so don’t post mine.

Once again I wish to draw you attention to my circulation model DiagFuncMacroSyst.pdf It is in Wikipedia in Commons under Macroeconomics and hopefully still under the subject Macroeconomics itself. This model is unique in that no other one that is on the web (at least) includes all three factors of production of Adam Smith (1767!) and the corresponding 3 returns. Without all these effects, one cannot rightly claim to have properly modelled the subject, and the implications are particularly interesting.

Hi Jodi:
I enjoy your videos a great deal.
I only miss some on international trade.
Would it be possible for you to post some on Heckscher-Olhin model, Specific-Factors model, Melitz model, Krugman’s New Trade, etc.?

Precisely how long did it require u to publish “Welcome To The Virtual Economics Classroom!
”? It offers an awful lot of great advice. Appreciate it -Jeffry
